Reviews & Reader Stories That Matter

See how one remarkable journey has inspired readers from every walk of life.

The Story Through Their Eyes

A brief disclosure: Ron is my husband. Even so, I hope you’ll read this review simply as one reader’s honest reflection on a book that deeply moved me.

I already knew Ron as a kind, heroic, hardworking, talkative, and painfully hilarious man. What this book gave me was something unexpected—a deeper understanding of the experiences that shaped the man I know today. It answered questions I didn’t even realize I had and gave me a new appreciation for both his strengths and his humanity.

Reading American Halfbreed took me on an unforgettable emotional journey. At times I was angry, heartbroken, and brought to tears. Other times I laughed out loud at Ron’s hilarious stories and his unique way of expressing how he sees the world.

What I appreciated most was Ron’s honesty. He openly shares not only his experiences, but also his thoughts, emotions, mistakes, and vulnerabilities. He doesn’t ask the reader to admire him or agree with every decision he made. Instead, in plain language, he shares the lessons he learned in a sincere effort to help others avoid unnecessary pain. That authenticity is one of the book’s greatest strengths.

I had to read some of his adventures more than once because they seemed almost unbelievable. Yet his resilience, hope, and perseverance remind us that anything is possible. More than a memoir, American Halfbreed inspired me to become a better person—to learn more, do more for myself and for others, and never underestimate both the suffering and the strength of the human spirit.

One of the things that means the most to me is seeing that the qualities I admire in Ron have been recognized by so many others whose lives he has touched. That, to me, speaks volumes about the man he is today.

This book didn’t change how I feel about my husband—it changed how deeply I understand and respect him. It also changed how I understand and respect others and myself. Long after I turned the final page, I found myself wanting to learn more, do more, and be better. I hope others have the opportunity to experience American Halfbreed, follow Ron’s work, and, through his story, discover something meaningful about themselves.
